Random Blips

Welcome to my little stream of consciousness. This is where I drop quick thoughts, odd ideas, passing observations, or whatever else pops into my head. No schedule, no theme - just random blips whenever I feel like it.

Paid a visit to the “repatriation center” in Gjadër. More like a high security prison in the middle of nowhere.

Had the pleasure of meeting Lukas Kurath of Punishte Kreative today, who offered a tour through his workshop as well as the Shkodër outskirts. Just a couple of minutes outside the city we found many families living in deep poverty. Hopefully his project will make a positive impact, even if it feels like just a drop in the ocean.

As our last evening in Elbasan approached, we improvised a fondue for our friends to celebrate the time we had together. I decided to combine a regional kaçkavall with a bit of gouda to balance out the saltiness of the former, heating everything over a few tealights. It turned out surprisingly well!

Tomorrow, two of us are heading to Shkodër early in the morning to meet more friends, while the others are travelling back home to Switzerland.

Looks like the people in this corner found a cheaper alternative to barbed wire to keep stray animals out of their yard.

Spent the afternoon walking by the river. Used the time to capture some images with the full-spectrum. Got a few decent pictures! Still getting used to darktable, but here’s two shots taken today:
